Terms of service
Last updated 29 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and [Your company's legal name] ("we") for using things & events. By signing up, you agree to them. Questions go to hello@example.com.
Your account
You need to be old enough to agree to a contract where you live. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what's done with your account. Tell us at hello@example.com if you think someone else has used it.
Trial and billing
- New accounts start with a 14-day free trial. A card is needed to start it, and nothing is charged during it. One trial per person.
- Unless you cancel before it ends, the trial becomes a paid subscription on the plan you chose, monthly or yearly, at the price shown when you signed up.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, charged to your card through Stripe, until you cancel.
- If we change prices, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you, and it takes effect at your next renewal.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while. If it still can't be taken, the subscription ends and the app stops opening until you subscribe again. Your data is kept.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time in Settings → Manage billing. You keep using the app until the end of the period you've paid for, and you aren't charged again. We don't refund part of a period already started. If you've been charged in error, email us and we'll put it right. Nothing here affects any rights to a refund that the law where you live gives you.
Your content
What you put in the app is yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it, back it up and show it to you. We don't claim it, sell it, or show it to anyone else. You can download it or delete it at any time, as the privacy policy describes.
Using it fairly
Don't use the app to break the law, to store things you have no right to, to attack or overload the service, or to try to get at anyone else's data. If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Except in serious cases we'll tell you first, and give you the chance to download your data.
The service
We work to keep the app running, secure and backed up, and to improve it. We can't promise it will never be unavailable or never have a fault, so it's provided "as is". Keep your own copy of anything you couldn't bear to lose: the database download in Settings makes that easy. If we ever shut the service down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice so you can take your data, and refund any period you've paid for and won't get.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by cancelling, or by deleting your account in Settings. We may end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you at least 30 days before. These terms are governed by the law of [Country or state whose law governs the terms, e.g. England and Wales].
